Facebook Won!

When I moved to Buenos Aires last August I swore to blog at least once a week. That was all fine and well until I discovered Facebook. I've truly enjoyed catching up with people that I knew years ago.
So, in no particular order, this is what we've been up to since late October:
Our daughter Jessica visited for 10 days over the Christmas holidays. We went to Mendoza to tour wineries and go Paragliding on Deidre's Birthday. In BA we ate and drank way too much and did the tourist thing.
Our friend Tammy from Chicago visited in November and we all had a fantastic time.
Friends our our friend Martha visited and we had a great time with them for a few days.
We went to one of the Pole playoff matches, then the Gran Final of Argentine Polo....imagine the Masters, but substitute Golf with Polo. I've got the bug for sure.
It was 104 degrees on Thanksgiving, but we had the best turkey ever....from Brazil. Our friends John and Robin were our guests that hot day.
Deidre was mugged on a busy street in the middle of the afternoon. Her Rolex was stolen and she was thrown into traffic, but was not seriously injured.
Because she was afraid that I would be robbed she made me keep my watch in my pocket whenever we went out. Consequently, my watch slipped out of my pocket in a taxi...oh well, watches can be replaced.
I started taking horseback riding lessons.....I love it.
We still take Spanish lessons a few times a week; we are better, but not conversational.
We still take Tango lessons and still seriously blow.
Brent, Frannie, Sarah and Nate came over for NYE which was one of our best ever!
I don't know how many books we've read, but it's nice to have the time to do so.
The exchange rate continues to increase, so we get a raise every few days.
We go to the gym a few times a week and walk almost always. We both lost weight since we arrived here 4 1/2 months ago, but not by dieting, rather by walking and spending time in the gym.
We still love it here and are making plans to go to Ushuaia, El Calafate, Bariloche, Salta, etc.
